The data from the sample household surveys conducted by the National Statistics Committee in January-September 2025 show the distribution of the population in the country by type of housing.
Reportedly, 88.1 percent of households live in detached houses (with land plots). This figures indicates that detached housing still tops the housing infrastructure of Uzbekistan.
While, 11.7 percent of households live in multi-apartment buildings. Urbanization, increasing number of multi-storey housing in large cities, and the development of the mortgage market indicate a gradual increase in the share of this segment.
The remaining 0.2 percent of households live in other types of housing - temporary housing, service houses, or non-traditional forms of housing.
These statistics serve as an important source for decision-making on housing policies, urban development planning, development of infrastructure and communal services, balanced development of rural and urban areas.
