The Interior Minister Aziz Toshpulatov hosted the President of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) Mohammad bin Sulayem, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the FIA ​​General Assembly Wednesday.

In the meeting were present the FIA Vice President for Mobility and Tourism Tim Shearman, FIA Secretary General for Sustainable Development Willem Grönewald, the Special Envoy of the President of Uzbekistan for Sports Odil Abdurakhmanov, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, the leadership of the National Olympic Committee and representatives of a number of ministries and departments.

The parties emphasized that the development of motorsports served to build technical literacy in society, a responsible attitude to speed, and discipline in traffic, while focusing on road safety.

The Minister Toshpulatov provided information on systematic steps aimed at ensuring public safety, reducing road accidents, strengthening pedestrian protection, and improving the culture of road users.

The parties, , extensively discussed the development of motorsports in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the FIA, the introduction of FIA's best practices in road safety in training centers, improving the culture of compliance with traffic rules among young people, the use of modern solutions for teaching road safety in educational institutions, and improving road infrastructure based on international experience.

At the end of the meeting, the parties identified goals aimed at the development of motorsports and the widespread introduction of modern information technologies in the process of ensuring road safety, as well as improving the culture of compliance with traffic rules among the public.
