President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree expanding the list of international brand products imported into Uzbekistan subject to reduced customs duties Saturday.
The aim of these changes is to increase investor interest in international cooperation, integrate into global value chains, attract global retail leaders, expand the presence of international brands in Uzbekistan, and create favorable conditions for increased tourism (shopping tourism).
The reduced duties apply to goods imported under direct contracts with brand owners or their official suppliers (included in the register)—distributors, dealers, sales representatives, manufacturers, and licensees.
According to the October 12, 2022decree, this list currently includes 55 types of products. It is now being expanded to 70.
