Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhobov and the Ambassador to Kuwait Ayubhon Yunusov met with the President Ala Omar al-Ali and the Director General of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Muhammad Amir al-Khomisi in Damascus on Sunday.

During the talks, the parties discussed the ways to develop trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Syria, establishing direct contacts between businesses.

The Syrian officials underscored that the country, after a long period of unrest, had returned to an open economic policies and was paying great attention to the development of investment and industry.

They underscored that there is a high demand for Uzbek goods the Syrian market, in particular, electrical engineering, construction materials and food items.

The parties supported the initiative to establish close cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries and invited Uzbek entrepreneurs to participate in the international exhibition Damascus International Fair-63 in Damascus next year.

They also agreed to organize a visit to Uzbekistan by a major Syrian business delegation in the first quarter of 2026, as well as to hold a business forum and B2B meetings.
