As per the updated draft Uzbekistan 2030 strategy, Uzbekistan plans to increase life expectancy to 78 years by 2030. According to the draft, the authorities are aiming the average life expectancy to reach 75.5 years in 2026, 76 years in 2027, 76.8 years in 2028, 77.5 years in 2029, and 78 years in 2030.
To achieve these goals, the authorities intend to increase healthcare funding. The ratio of budget expenditures on public healthcare will rise to 5% of GDP by 2030.
The strategy is also intended to reduce premature mortality. To this end, the authorities plan to reduce early mortality from cardiovascular diseases among those aged 30 to 69 to 27%, and mortality from cancer to 5.2%.
Reportedly, the strategy will focus not only increase on life expectancy but also on improving its quality by developing prevention, early diagnosis, and improving access to healthcare for the public.
