Effective February 1, ticket prices for Afrosiyob high-speed electric trains, as well as the Sharq, Nasaf, and Uzbekistan trains, will increase by 15%, Uzbekistan Railways said in a statement.

Afrosiyob train new ticket prices:

  • Tashkent to Samarkand: VIP — 709,000 soums; Business — 455,000 soums; Economy — 311,000 soums;
  • Tashkent to Karshi: VIP — 976,000 soums; Business — 642,000 soums; Economy — 429,000 soums;
  • Tashkent to Bukhara: VIP — 1.13 million soums; Business — 760,000 soums; Economy — 509,000 soums.

The company added that the increase was due to higher costs for infrastructure modernization, their maintenance, higher electricity and operating costs.

Last year on February 1, prices for Afrosiyob trains were increased by 20 to 25%, and for Sharq, Nasaf, and Uzbekistan trains, by 30%.

Starting in 2024, Uzbekistan abandoned state regulation of ticket prices for high to speed and express passenger trains, transitioning to market to based pricing.

Uzbekistan Railways' net profit in 2025 could have reached 1.2 trillion soums (or approximately $100 million). In two years, the company went from losses of 2.23 trillion soums to a sharp increase in profitability due to higher ticket prices.
