The President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, concluded her trip to Asia with a stop in Tashkent today, where she was hosted by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The meeting provided an opportunity to deepen the dialogue that was launched in May 2025 with the adoption of the Joint Declaration on Strengthening Strategic Partnership Relationships, on the occasion of President Meloni’s visit to the region.
In this context, the two leaders discussed the main theatres of crisis as well as key sectors of bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on critical raw materials and the agro-industry.
Lastly, underscoring the strategic nature of relations between Uzbekistan and Italy, President Mirziyoyev and President Meloni agreed to remain in close contact.
