President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has made several new appointments to government positions responsible for combating corruption, the president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov announced.

Otabek Rakhmonov has been appointed adviser to the prime minister in charge of anti-corruption compliance and internal control. Prior to that, he served as deputy head of the secretariat of the chief of the Presidential Administration.

Bakhodir Normurodov has been appointed deputy prosecutor general in charge of anti-corruption compliance and internal control. His previous position was chief of the Compliance Service sector in the Presidential Administration.

Jalol Kurbonov has been appointed deputy minister of economy and finance for anti-corruption compliance and internal control. He previously served as head of the chancery of the Presidential Administration. Late last year, the president declared a state of emergency in the fight against corruption in 2026, calling it a key threat to the country's development and public trust. In his address to the nation and parliament, he announced that all government agencies would introduce a position of deputy chief in charge of anti-corruption compliance and internal control.
