The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev began his official program in the U.S. with a meeting with the US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.

The parties discussed the ways to further strengthen the Uzbek-American strategic partnership and advancing cooperation projects in priority areas.

They noted with satisfaction that the United States is one of Uzbekistan's key partners: the two-way trade surpassed $1 billion, with approximately 340 American companies operating in Uzbekistan.

Major energy, critical minerals, transportation, agriculture, IT, and other area projects are progressing successfully.

A three-year, $35 billion Economic Cooperation Program is in effect, with a number of important agreements expected to be signed at business events.

They pointed to the need to tap the capabilities of the recently established Business Council and launch an Investment Platform for systemic support of priority projects and emphasized the importance of developing trade ties and expanding direct business contacts with the regions of Uzbekistan.
