President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his remarks at a meeting with American business leaders in Washington Wednesday, declared his readiness to provide full support for their investment projects.

Opening the event, Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the new format of the dialogue:

"Today, for the first time, our ministers, deputy prime ministers, and governors are involved, because every word you say, your every project is crucial for us to implement, and we must create all the conditions for you to feel comfortable working in Uzbekistan."

“This meeting was a continuation of the roundtable held at the end of last year and demonstrates the transition of the economic partnership to a level of strategic trust and mutual interest.”

"I am glad that we have gathered today to move from discussion to action. The global economy is undergoing a profound transformation, in which the reliability of partners and the predictability of rules are key. It is within this logic that we are building our cooperation with the United States of America."

“Speaking about our reforms over the past eight years: We have opened the foreign exchange market, simplified taxes and customs procedures, reduced bureaucracy, strengthened and accelerated digitalization, and launched new mechanisms to support investors. Average annual GDP growth in recent years has been 6.5%."

“By 2030, Uzbekistan intends to double industrial production and increase the share of high-tech products to one-third. This is expected to attract at least $35 billion in investment and create up to 250,000 new jobs annually.”

“Our priority is not only the scale but also the quality of projects, their technological level, industrial cooperation, and contribution to industrial development.”

"We are looking forward and building a strong, technologically advanced, and equitable economy in Uzbekistan. And today, we clearly see areas where we can grow together with the United States." In this regard, projects in key sectors have been prepared for signing—critical raw materials, petrochemicals and energy, agriculture, poultry farming, and other industries. Sustainable financial instruments are necessary to scale up the reforms.”

Following the meeting, an agreement was signed to set up an investment platform between the countries for the systemic promotion of bilateral projects.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that this is “a very good foundation and the right direction.”

“I think many companies will be able to use it effectively. I am confident that the results will be evident in the near future. We have no doubt about this… Your projects in Uzbekistan are not only investments in our economy. They also include the supply of American equipment and a boost for manufacturing capacities in the United States”.

“The economic agenda is important in our dialogue with US President Donald Trump:

“And every time we meet, we work seriously in every area. It is one of the key pillars of the strategic partnership between our countries. Uzbekistan is ready to continue to be a reliable, predictable, and responsible partner for the United States".

“This meeting confirms the partnership's transition to practical implementation. Now is the right time for strategic decisions. We are providing predictable rules, full support, and supervision of the project at every stage. All ministers and regional leaders will be personally responsible for the successful implementation of the project."

“Uzbek government officials are ready to work promptly with investors: Today, you can press the button in the province where you will be present. The governor and ministers will be at your disposal. I have connected them today so that you understand how important you are to us."

“I would like to thank the American businesses and financial institutions for their trust. I am confident that all our joint projects will be implemented and will contribute to the development of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries. I want to assure you once again: you must be confident in your choice and cooperation with Uzbekistan." This isn't the first time I've been here for this. I really want to hear from you what's holding you back, what you need, what decisions the president needs to make, and my entire team is at your disposal today to ensure this results in the near future."
