Under Article 140 of the Family Code, if an individual responsible for child support is unemployed or lacks documentation to verify their income, the alimony debt shall be calculated based on the national average monthly wage.

The revised estimated monthly payments are as follows:

  • for one child: approximately 1.7 million soums;
  • for two children: approximately 2.3 million soums;
  • for three or more children: approximately 3.4 million soums.

These adjustments shall be made automatically in accordance with current legislation.

According to the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement, 61% of those required to pay child support are currently unemployed or lack a steady source of income.

As of April 28, 2026, the average monthly wage in Uzbekistan has risen above 6.8 million sums. Consequently, child support obligations for citizens without a formal income have also increased.
