The administrative building of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy, located in Tashkent's Shaykhantahur district, has been sold at auction for 196.6 billion soums.

The bidding on May 15 opened with a starting price of 187.2 billion soums. The auction lasted just 10 minutes and concluded after a single price bid was submitted.

In the end, Hamkorbank JSC emerged as the winner with its 196.6 billion soum offer.

The seven-story building is situated at the intersection of Abdulla Qodiriy and Abay streets, near the Urda residential area. It features a total area of 11,725 square meters and occupies a 0.48-hectare plot of land.

The property is fully connected to all major utilities, including electricity, gas, water, and sewage systems. Under the terms of the sale, the buyer must repurpose the facility for offices and service-sector operations in compliance with urban planning regulations.

Previous privatization attempt

The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy building had actually been privatized just five months prior. The previous auction, held on December 16, opened with a starting price of 130.3 billion soums. It lasted one hour and seven minutes, going through eight rounds of bidding before "O‘zshahar qurilish invest" LLC emerged victorious with a winning bid of 182.2 billion soums.

As of November 26, 2024, "O‘zshahar qurilish invest" was state-owned: the State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) held a 90% stake, while "Qurilish Invest Development" LLC owned the remaining 10%.

Earlier, it was announced that the Ministry of Construction would relocate to New Tashkent, where it will be housed in a brand-new complex alongside the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Water Resources.
