Hot and predominantly dry weather is forecast this Monday afternoon across the country, though isolated thundershowers may develop in parts of the Fergana Valley later in the day, Uzhydromet said.
Daytime highs across most of the country will hover between +38°C and +41°C, while northern, southern, and desert provinces will see temperatures climb to between +42°C and +44°C.
The heatwave is expected to intensify as the week progresses. By the end of the workweek, daytime temperatures will rise to +41°C to +43°C across most territories, and skyrocket to +44°C to +46°C in the north, south, and desert zones.
Nights will offer little relief, remaining stiflingly warm. Overnight lows will generally range from +23°C to +28°C, while northern, southern, and desert areas will experience even hotter nights between +28°C and +33°C.
Winds will average 7 to 12 meters per second, with localized gusts potentially reaching 13 to 18 meters per second, causing blowing dust in some areas.
In the highlands, brief showers and thunderstorms are possible in isolated mountain areas from July 13 to July 14. Furthermore, authorities warn of potential flash floods and mudslides on July 13 in the foothills and mountainous zones of the Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan, and Fergana provinces.
Clear to partly cloudy skies will prevail in Tashkent. The capital will see daytime highs of +38°C to +40°C on Monday and Tuesday, before escalating to +40°C to +43°C from July 15 to July 17. Nighttime temperatures in the city will hover between +25°C and +28°C.
