The Cabinet of Ministers approved a new regulation on elevator and lift safety component compliance under its June 19, 2026 Resolution.
This document establishes concrete protocols for evaluating elevators and their corresponding safety devices. The regulation is built upon the foundational requirements of the national technical framework governing elevator safety.
Under the new guidelines, manufacturers are authorized to apply the National Mark of Conformity to elevator safety devices, provided all legally mandated standards are fully met. To ensure authenticity and verify compliance, this conformity mark must be paired with a unique identification number registered in the certification body's official database.
The regulation outlines several mechanisms for assessing safety equipment. These include evaluating manufacturer quality systems to guarantee consistency with approved product prototypes, conducting comprehensive technical audits during production, and performing periodic product reassessments at scheduled intervals.
Designated safety bodies will compile detailed reports based on the results of these assessments, inspections, and lab tests. A formal Certificate of Conformity will be issued only if the elevator or its safety components meet all core public safety thresholds.
Officials emphasize that the newly enacted regulation aims to significantly improve elevator operational safety and standardize technical inspection criteria across the industry.
