Non-residential real estate on 4.5 hectares in Tashkent province's Kumushkon area, which formerly belonged to Akbar Abdullaev, have been put up for auction, UzA said.

The real estate overlooking a picturesque valley is valued at a starting price of 8,237,126,532.00 soums, or nearly US$1 million.

In 2000s Akbar Abdullaev "controlled" industrial facilities in the Fergana province, in particular, the Fergana Oil Refinery and QuvasoyCement.

Abdullaev, nephew of Karimov's widow, Tatyana Karimova, is wanted in Tashkent for embezzling hundreds of millions of dollars.

He was arrested at Kiev's Zhulyany International Airport in January after he arrived there with Uzbek and Dominican passports and was placed in a pretrial detention center until April 21, when he was transferred to house arrest.

In June, 2017 he was released from house arrest and offered refugee status in Ukraine.
