As of January, 2021, Uzbekistan’s permanent population stood at 32.345 million people, an increase by 653.7 thousand, or 1.9% to the last year, the Statistics Committee reported.

As of January 1, 2020, the permanent population was 33 million 905 thousand people, an increase by 650.3 thousand, or 2% to the previous year.

Note: In 2018, the population grew by 1.8% (597.4 thousand), in 2017 - by 1.7% (533.4 thousand), in 2016 - by 1.7% (545.8 thousand) and in 2015 - by 1.8% (553.9 thousand).

The resident population is the population permanently residing at the time of the counting, including those temporarily absent.
