Online talks on Uzbekistan's accession to the Airports Council International took place in late 2020. It was attended by Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports Ravshan Ismoilov and ACI Director General Stefano Baronsi.
The documents submitted by the Uzbek side to the organization were approved, the fulfillment of membership requirements and further tasks were agreed.
“ACI membership guarantees the reliability of the provided services. The country will reform the air transport system, bring the industry in line with international standards, develop tourism and expedite the flow of investment.
The ACI experience will also allow us to take global action to combat coronavirus infection, and develop effective programs to warn and protect passengers from the risk of a pandemic,” the official statement said.
The International Airports Council was established in 1991 and is headquartered in Canada. The organization unites 670 members and services 1,979 airports in 176 countries.
