On February 26, the Uzbek Ambassador to Russia Botirjon Asadov, at a meeting with the chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Mikhail Myasnikovich, introduced the newly appointed Counselor of the Embassy for cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the representative of Uzbekistan in the EEC Shukhrat Shukurov, the Dunyo news agency reported.

Uzbekistan got the observer status at the Eurasian Economic Union in December 2020.

Shukhrat Shukurov conveyed to the Chairman of the EEC Board a letter from the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov on the appointment of a representative of Uzbekistan at the commission.

The Uzbek diplomats also held meetings with th member of the EEC Collegium for Integration and Macroeconomics, Sergei Glazyev, and a member of the EEC Collegium for Trade, Andrei Slepnev.
