At a meeting today chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the leader introduced the new deputy head of administration/ the spokesman to the President, Sherzod Asadov, with the appointment order signed today.

“He has extensive experience, I have witnessed this on many ocassions. Nowadays we are in need of such educated people. He knows both the external and the internal world. Sherzod Asadov will be personally responsible for the implementation of the state's information policies. He will evaluate the work of all state, economic organizations and mayor’s offices in the media sphere, as well as be in charge of the development of state and non-state media and the improvement of their activities ... It is necessary to compare with the past period, to convey to people the nature of current fair policies," the president said.

He also instructed Sherzod Asadov to coordinate the activities of press secretaries of all departments and mayor’s offices.

Previously, Sherzod Asadov worked as the Deputy Foreign Minister and served as Uzbek Ambassador to Austria and the country's permanent representative to the OSCE in Europe and other international organizations in Vienna.
