85 electric vehicles worth US$ 1.5 million were imported to Uzbekistan in January-February 2021. This is by 78 units more than in the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee reported.
For the entire 2020, 131 electric vehicles worth US$ 2.9 million were imported to Uzbekistan. Thus, in two months of this year, almost 65% of imports of electric vehicles in 2020 were imported into the country. In 2019, 39 electric vehicles were imported into the country, in 2018 - 13.
In two months of the year, electric cars were imported to Uzbekistan mainly from China (55 cars). Turkey is in second place (24 electric vehicles), followed by South Korea (3), USA (2) and Lithuania (1).
The December government resolution abolished the tax on the purchase of electric vehicles. Soon a "road map" should be developed for the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles.
