Kuwait's Jazeera Airways has received a permit to operate regular flights to Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Transport said in a statement.

As per the air service agreement entered into between the Government of Uzbekistan and the State of Kuwait, on April 12, 2021, Uzaviatsiya Agency issued an operational permit to Jazeera Airways to operate Kuwait to Tashkent regular flights.

The airline will reportedly operate flights on A320-214 and A320-251N aircrafts.

In late January, the Deputy PM Aziz Abdukhakimov held talks with a delegation led by Jazeera Airways Vice President Ravindran Bharatkhan.

During the talks, the parties discussed the launching of direct flights from Kuwait to Uzbekistan, increasing the flow of Kuwaiti tourists to the country and the promoting cooperation in the field of tourism.

Earlier, it was reported that direct flights between Uzbekistan and Qatar could also be launched.
