The Cabinet of Ministers by its April 12 resolution approved the Regulation on the procedure for providing financial assistance to Uzbekistan citizens who find themselves on the territory of foreign states without means of living, Norma.uz reported.

The Ministry of Finance was instructed to allocate additional funds to the parameters of financing foreign diplomatic missions and consular offices. These funds, allocated at the requests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the expense of additional sources of the state budget, will be used to provide financial assistance to citizens who find themselves on the territory of foreign states without means for living.

The regulation stipulates that financial assistance to citizens of Uzbekistan shall be provided for their return to their homeland. A citizen of Uzbekistan who finds himself without means of living can apply for financial assistance to a diplomatic mission of his country.

The regulation also spells out the procedure for provision of financial assistance and the terms for its return, the types of expenses for which financial assistance is provided, as well as the amount and sources of funds allocated for the provision of assistance.
