On May 5, 452 coronavirus cases were recorded in Uzbekistan (the day before - 404) - this is the highest daily record since the beginning of the year. The total number of officially confirmed cases stands at 93,176, the Ministry of Health said.
The highest number of cases was recorded in Tashkent city - 229. In the Samarkand province - 85 cases, , in Tashkent province - 71, in other provinces - 10 or less.
On the day, two patients died, bringing the total official number to 657.
Now 3544 people are being treated in medical institutions (an increase per day - 10 people).
At the end of May 5, as part of the mass vaccination of the population against coronavirus, over 1 million 9510 doses of the vaccine were applied, including 32,533 doses as the second dose. During the day, 45,616 people received the vaccine, of which 34,089 were the first dose, 11,527 - the second.
In Tashkent city, almost 79 thousand people have been vaccinated to this date, including 7,200 people on May 5.
