A new batch of 500,000 doses of ZF-UZ-VAC2001 coronavirus vaccine was delivered from China to Tashkent on Wednesday morning, the Ministry of Health said.

On the eve, Uzbekistan accepted the delivery of one million doses of this vaccine. Another million were delivered in April and March, bringing the total to 3.5 million doses.

ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine is a recombinant vaccine developed by the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical. Its clinical trials were carried out in collaboration with Uzbek scientists. Later, the company recognized Uzbekistan as a co-author in the development of the drug.

Earlier, Uzbekistan also received 660 thousand doses of the AstraZeneca (CoviShield) vaccine and 100 thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik V (50 thousand doses of the first and second components).

According to the Ministry of Health, 1.41 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine were used in the country from April 1 to May 18. Of these, at the first stage, 1.12 million people were vaccinated, at the second - 286.3 thousand people.
