Locally designed Tarlon light armored vehicle (LAV) is being tested in Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Defense Industry said in a statement.

Reportedly, in accordance with the order of the ministries and departments of the Armed Forces, the group of military specialists are testing the Tarlon light armored vehicle, which are designed and manufactured at the enterprises of the defense industry.

At the initial stage of the test, the Tarlon’s ballistic protection will be tested in accordance with established standards, the ability to cross and overcome various obstacles will be tested in mountainous and rough teraains.

In July 2020, the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Defense Industry, together with one of the country's major special equipment enterprise, Kran Va Maxsus Texnikalar LLC, manufactured the prototype of Tarlon light armored vehicle.

Tarlon LAV is designed to transport personnel, perform special missions in high-risk areas, and is used for fire support of mobile groups and checkpoints, combat patrols, guard of troops and motor transport convoys, providing protection for crew and troops from bullets and explosions.
