The press service of the Syrdarya province governor’s office commented on the footage showing the officials of the governor’s office in a company with belly dancers in a restaurant.
According to the governor’s office, the footage was filmed in October 2020 at the Euro Asia restaurant at about 21:00.
In the footage the deputy district mayor (who then worked as an assistant to the district mayor), the head of the district municipal cleaning department, and others, who, “like any other citizens, came to the restaurant in their free time to have dinner."
“The belly dancers working in the restaurant entered the room where these people were sitting. They did not like the sudden appearance of the dancers. Therefore, the dancers were given money and asked to leave the room. As a result, there was a situation on the video,” the message says.
The governor’s office said that officials were reminded that they "must set an example as civil servants by following the rules of conduct in the public."
