An electric vehicle assembly plant will be built in Andijan province, announced the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to the province.
“We will study the Chinese experience and build an electric vehicle assembly plant. The world is changing very fast, industry should be based on knowledge,” he said.
In August 2020 it became known that the construction of an electric vehicle assembly plant had begun in the Kokand free economic zone. The project is being implemented by Shaffof omad sanoat LLC.
The project cost, implemented jointly with the Chinese Silk Road Company, is US$ 30 million, including US$ 24 million of foreign investment.
Provisional estimates show that the approximate price of a domestic electric vehicle will be at around US$ 3,000. The company plans to start producing electric vehicles from 2021.
