Today, Uzbekistan received the delivery of the sixth batch of 1 million doses of the Chinese-Uzbek vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC2001, the Ministry of Health said. Another batch of three-component ZF-UZ-VAC2001 of 1 million doses is due tomorrow on June 30.

Reportedly, the total reserve of coronavirus vaccines in the country has reached 6.4 million doses (of which 5.5 million are the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine). To date, 3.4 million doses have been used (1.998 million - the first dose, 1.174 million - the second, 236 thousand - the third dose). On June 28, over 128.5 thousand doses were applied.

ZF-UZ-VAC2001 is a recombinant vaccine developed by scientists from the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and manufactured by Anhui Zhifei Longcom Biopharmaceutical. Its clinical trials were carried out in collaboration with the Uzbek scientists. It is the fourth coronavirus vaccine developed and authorized in China for emergency use.

According to the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, 9 million people have been vaccinated with this vaccine in China.

The vaccination process began in Uzbekistan on April 1. It first reached out to healthcare professionals and senior citizens over the age of 65. On April 27, the vaccination of school teachers and staff of preschool institutions began.

Since June 22, citizens over 50 years old and university professors have been vaccinated. From June 25, everyone over 18 years old were allowed to get vaccinated in Tashkent. Vaccination centers in the capital are organized in markets, supermarkets, schools, makhallas and other places.
