The Russian diplomats who worked in Hairaton, Afghanistan, have been evacuated to Uzbekistan for security reasons, announced the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan/Director of the second department of Asia of the Foreign Ministry Zamir Kabulov, reports TASS.

He added that the state of affairs in Afghanistan was causing concern.

“Alarming but predictable. What we predicted is happening,” Kabulov said, answering the relevant question.

In addition, Kabulov said that a new Moscow-format meeting on an Afghan peace settlement will take place when all conditions are there.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that Russia does not rule out the possibility of holding a Moscow-format meeting on an Afghan peace settlement and was ready to provide such a platform for dialogue between the Afghan parties in case of a request.

The security situation in Afghanistan deteriorated significantly in April this year after the U.S. troops started to pullout from the country.

As of July 6, the United States pulled out more than 90% of troops. At the same rate, other NATO states and their partners are withdrawing their contingents from this country.
