The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan met with the SCO Secretary General. According to the press service of the CEC, the chairman of the election commission invited the secretary general and the SCO observer mission to the upcoming presidential elections as international observers.
The chair of the CEC also highly commended the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the SCO, including the regular participation of Uzbek representatives in the mission of the SCO member states in the parliamentary and presidential elections, and separately dwelt on reforms in the electoral system.
The Secretary General stressed that despite the pandemic, the world community is committed to democratic and secure elections and the active participation of all sectors of society.
