During the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Almalyk, it was unveiled that 1.2 million doses of Pfizer vaccine would be delivered to Uzbekistan.

On July 29, during his visit to Almalyk, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Jurabek Laboratories where he got acquainted with the production process of the vaccine against COVID-19.

It was reported that another 17.9 million doses of the vaccine are expected to be delivered to Uzbekistan:

Moderna - 3 million doses;

Pfizer/Bio N Tech - 1.2 million doses;

ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 - 12 million doses;

Sputnik V - 1.7 million doses.

It was also reported that 44.761 million US dollars were spent on all vaccines purchased. Of this amount, $ 39.1 million was spent on the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine, $ 3,681.5 thousand on Sputnik V and $ 1.98 million on AstraZeneca.

While getting acquainted with the process of vaccine production, the head of state stressed the need for vaccination for the people. “There is no more effective way to deal with the disease,” he said.
