On July 30, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with his South Korean counterpart Chung Eui-yong meeting in Seoul.
The parties discussed the ways to further deepen and expand the ties between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea and reviewed the status of the agreements reached during the bilateral summit, in particular the online summit in January this year.
An exchange of views took place on the agenda and schedule of upcoming joint events at various levels. The two ministers also considered proposals for building up trade, economic and investment cooperation.
The parties noted with satisfaction the results achieved in the field of education. In Uzbekistan, there are branches of five leading South Korean universities, vocational education centers in Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz and Fergana, South Korean experience is being introduced into the development of the preschool education system.
Interest was expressed in the implementation of joint projects in the areas of high technologies, green and digital economy.
The Minister Kamilov reiterated Uzbekistan's unwavering support for the policy of the Republic of Korea on the peaceful settlement of the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the resumption of inter-Korean dialogue.
In turn, the South Korean minister welcomed Uzbekistan's initiatives to strengthen the atmosphere of good-neighborliness and develop mutually beneficial cooperation with neighboring countries and integration processes in the Central Asian region.
