The Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party is set to nominate the chairman of the central council, Alisher Qodirov, for the 2021 presidential elections in October.
The Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber was presented as the candidate at the party;s extraordinary meeting. His candidacy is expected to be approved by the party congress on August 26.
Alisher Qodirov, 46, graduated from the Aegean University in Turkey (1996), the Tashken tInstitute ўа Finances (2009) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan (2011). Over the years, he worked in the department of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade in the Jizzakh province.
In 2015, he became MP from the Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party to the Legislative Chamber. In May 2019, he was elected leader of the party.
As reported earlier, the Green Party nominated Narzulla Oblomurodov for the presidential election, while Adolat Social Democratic Party vowed to nominate its leader Bakhrom Abdukhalimov.
