The Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of Russia published 100,000 new textbooks on the Russian language in Tashkent.

This initiative was implemented within the framework of the Class! Project.

Second-graders of Uzbek-medium schools will study these books in the new academic year. In total, it is planned to issue around 600 thousand copies. The textbooks have been developed in line with the new educational program of the Russian as a foreign language. A joint team of leading Russian and Uzbek authors led by Elizaveta Khamraeva, director of the A.I. Herzen Interuniversity Center for Bilingual and Multicultural Education of the Russian State Pedagogical University.

As part of the project, starting from September, the new textbooks will be experimentally used for pupils of the grades 3-7, and starting from the new year - for grades 8-11.
