The Taliban movement sent a congratulatory message to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, announced the official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Yusup Qobuljonov.
The message was sent by a member of the negotiating group of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the press secretary of the political office of the Taliban movement Mohammad Suhail Shaheen on behalf of the leadership of the movement, Yusup Kabulzhanov added.
“Uzbekistan is actively participating in the peace process in Afghanistan. Uzbekistan’s constructive role is thus being recognized by the current leadership of Afghanistan, ”he said.
The message reads: “We cordially congratulate the leadership and people of the fraternal country of Uzbekistan on the Independence Day. We wish to build fruitful and friendly relations with the neighboring Uzbekistan. We confirm our interest in continuing the implementation of infrastructure projects in Afghanistan with the participation of Uzbekistan, in particular, the construction of a railway and power lines. "
It also added: "Afghanistan will provide all the necessary assistance to the Uzbek partners to this end."
