Uzbekistan becomes the 11th country that can send labor migrants to Japan. This became known on July 21, at the second labor forum dedicated to the prospects for development of labor relations and vocational education between Japan and Uzbekistan.

Mavjuda Mirzayeva, head of the Information Service of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, said that so far, Japan had been hiring manpower from only 10 countries. Therefore, there is a high demand for labor in Japan. At the forum, the delegation headed by the minister Nozim Khusanov and the chairman of the Japan Association of Cooperatives Muruyama Mokoto organized a dialogue, following which they stated that the Japanese market was now fully open to Uzbek migrants.

So far, 500 Uzbek workers have received vocational training under the auspices of the state, and 47 of them have decided to work in Japan.

- In August, 47 Uzbeks will go to Japan. Ministry officials added that today about 100 candidates with special qualification certificates in agriculture and care for the elderly are participating in the process of being hired to work in Japan.

Since the majority of Uzbek workers are not yet fluent in Japanese, they are offered jobs mainly in care for the elderly and in agriculture. It is envisaged that our employees, who are trained by the state, will take other jobs in the future.

The forum noted that if earlier the process of fulfilling the requirements of Japanese employers cost an Uzbek migrant $3,000, now these verification procedures have been moved to Uzbekistan, and today it costs $1,000.
