Today at Dinamo stadium in Samarkand was held the Uzbekistan Cup final in which Tashkent-based Lokomotiv narrowly defeated Nasaf of Karshi, 1: 0. This year the “railways” team recorded the double by winning also the Uzbekistan League title.

Uzbekistan slipped 14 positions to 62nd place in the updated FIFA ranking for November, after playing two matches, defeating  Jordan (1: 0) in a friendly and losing to South Korea (1: 2) in the final round of the Asian Qualifiers to the the World Cup 2018.

The Tashkent-based  Lokomotiv seals Uzbekistan Professional League title with one match still to play. After matchday 28 the “railways” team had 68 points, ahead of Bunyodkor who were second with  62 points. But after Bunyodkor was held by Navbakhor 1: 1 in matchday 29 they even lost mathematical chances of winning the title.

Uzbekistan lost to South Korea, 1-2 in matchday 5 of the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup 2018 at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

South Korea and Uzbekistan will play their fifth match in the final Asian qualifying round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Tuesday. Both teams are in Group A, where they also compete against Iran, Syria, Qatar and China.

Uzbekistan narrowly defeated Jordan, 1:0, in a friendly match at Pakhtakor stadium yesterday evening. The only goal was scored by the Beijing Guoan striker Igor Sergeev 45 minutes into the game.

On November 4 the coach of Uzbekistan national football team, Samvel Babayan announced the squad for the November 15 match against South Korea in matchday 5 of the third qualifying round of the World Cup 2018.

On October 31 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) in matchday 3 of the qualification tournament for 2017 AFC Women’s Championships U-19 China, Uzbekistan beat Chinese Taipei - 1:0. 

FIFA announced the updated world rankings in which Uzbekistan is placed 48th (on 671 points) getting close to its highest-ever ranking of 45.

Ten-man Uzbekistan defeated Australia and sealed their spot in the quarter-finals of the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship on Tuesday evening as Jasur Abduraimov’s side outclassed the Young Socceroos in a 3-2 win at Khalifa Sports City Stadium. 

China coach Gao Hongbo does not believe the country's hopes of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup finals are at an end despite a surprise 1-0 defeat to Syria on October 6.

Carlos Quieroz announced Iran squad for away World Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan on October 6 as part of Matchday 3 of the last round of the Asian World Cup qualifiers. Next, on matchday 4 Iran will host South Korea.
