Voting for the Budget Initiative of the 2025 Season One kicked off on the Open Budget portal on March 11, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said today.
Voting will last through 23:59 on March 20.
Votes can be cast in one of three ways:
- via Open Budget website;
- via mobile app (for Android and iOS);
- via official Telegram bot.
23.46 thousand have been selected out of almost 28.4 thousand projects in Season One. Over half of the initiatives (11.8 thousand) are related to the construction or overhaul of internal roads and zebra crossings, followed by projects for repair and improvement of schools (4112), street lighting (3095) and others.
Nearly 2.7 trillion soums will be contributed for the initiatives.
As of 13:00 on March 12, over 4 million people have already voted across provinces.
The winners of the Season will be announced on March 21, on Navruz holiday.
According to the changes made by the decision of the Senate council on January 13, sufficient funds will be allocated annually to implement at least 10 and no more than 30 projects in each district or city. This creates a minimum and maximum limit on the number of supported initiatives.
If the number of projects exceeds 10, the funds will be distributed based on the population of the district or city. This means that more densely populated areas will be able to apply for more funding.
Now, from 10 to 30 projects will be financed in each district or city. The funding limit is 1.5 billion soums. Thus, the minimum amount of budget funds will be 15 billion soums, and the maximum - 45 billion soums.
