On May 7, the EU Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP) handed over equipment to the relevant departments of Uzbekistan, the press service of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan said.

The event was attended by representatives of the EU Delegation, the CADAP programme, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Narcotics Control Committee and the National Drug Control Centre.

The participants of the event discussed the sharp increase in the spread of synthetic drugs, as well as the active use of the Internet, instant messengers and anonymous payment systems.

They expressed confidence that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU countries within the framework of the CADAP programme would continue to develop, creating opportunities for an effective fight against transnational drug crime.
