The Uzbek economy is projected to grow by 6.6% to reach $167 billion in 2026. This was announced at the gov’t meeting dedicated to the economic priorities for 2026 chaired by the president Mirziyoyev. The national policies will focus on achieving tangible economic results, attracting large-scale investments, and increasing the efficiency of sectors.
Reportedly, , the GDP grew by 7.7%, reaching $147 billion in 2025, when the growth was provided mainly by the services sector.
This year, it is projected to attract $50 billion in foreign investment. While, strict oversight will be established over the effectiveness and export orientation of investment projects.
The president set a goal to achieve the growth of the industry by at least 8.5%, increase the volume of car making to 510 thousand, and expand local cooperation.
Also, steps will be taken in 2026 to increase energy efficiency in SMEs, reduce gas and power consumption.
Exports diversification and growth through new markets and products, as well as ensuring price stability in the domestic market have also been identified as priority goals.
All reforms will be carried out on the principle of "from documents to results" and their implementation will reportedly be under strict control.
