President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov today arrived in Tashkent on a state visit. At Islam Karimov airport, the high guest was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.
Along the central streets of the city, the Turkmen leader was welcomed by thousands of young people with the flags of the two countries.
The visit will last two days, with the talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and signing of a number of bilateral accords Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's scheduled.
In Tashkent, the two leaders will visit the reconstructed Makhtumguly street and attend the opening of the Ashgabat park.
Tomorrow Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will depart for the Khorezm province, where he will visit the city of Khiva.
