Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov Tuesday hosted the visiting Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
The two foreign ministers discussed prospects for further advancing the bilateral ties in various fields and noted with satisfaction that the half-year of 2017 was very rich and fruitful in terms of enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The meetings between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in March and May of this year, as well as frequent contacts between the profile ministries and heads of departments that followed, gave a powerful impetus to the Uzbek-Turkmen relations.
The sides emphasized that they attach great importance to the bilateral accords signed at the highest level, and will closely monitor the implementation of every single deal.
The ministers also exchanged views on the international and regional issues.
In the meeting was also present the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Shiri Shiriyev.
