Shavkat Tulyaganov has been appointed as First deputy adviser to the President of Uzbekistan responsible for social and economic policy.
As stipulated in the August 7 Presidential decree, he will be in charge of coordinating the operations of free economic zones and small industrial zones.
Prior to this current appointment, Shavkat Tulyaganov (53 years old, a graduate of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute and Tashkent University of Economy) since 2008 was Deputy minister of foreign trade (former Foreign economic relations, investments and trade ministry).
In 2005-2008, he was Deputy minister of economy for economic modernization and investment programs, in 1995-2005 he held the posts of head of team, head of department and deputy chairman of the board at UzAutoSanoat (transl. Uz Auto Industry).
