Pursuant to the instruction by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his Fergana province trip on June 22-23, the Uzbekistan Railways launched electric train service between Kokand, Margilan and Andijan, UzA reports.
To ensure the service the railways giant has modernized five electric trains, each consisting of six cars. renovated the interiors and provided air conditioning. It is planned to purchase another 10 electric trains from abroad.
The 120 km/h speed services are now operating in test mode and are reaching destination 40 minutes faster than buses. The services call at Baghdad and Altyaryk districts, Margilan city, Kuva district and Asaka city.
