Azizov Abdusalom Abdumavlanovich, who served as Interior Minister since January, has been appointed Minister of Defense, the Defense Ministry said in a s tatement.
Previous Minister of Defense Kabul Berdiyev will be in charge of the Academy of Uzbek Armed Forces, the statement added.
Ergashev Pavel Ismailovich was appointed Interim Deputy Minister of Defense - Commander of the South-West Special Military District.
As reported earlier, Pulat Bobodjonov, who since 2012 worked as the Khorezm province governor, was appointed as new Interior Minister.
