Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, of the Armed Forces arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
General Mahmood Hayat was received by the Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and met with the Minister of Defense, Major-General Abdusalom Azizov.
The counterparts reportedly discussed the current state of regional security and bilateral military cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
General Mahmood Hayat delegation visited and familiarized himself with the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan.
The program of the visit also includes a sightseeing visit to the cultural and historical sights of Bukhara and Samarkand, and visit of the burial place of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
