The Uzbek-Russian military exercises started at Forish training ground in Jizzakh province. During the drills 400 servicemen will work out searching, blocking and destroying hypothetical terrorist groups, and exchange experience in conducting special operations in the mountainous areas.
On the first day was held an exhibition of weapons and military equipment used by the troops of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan.
Several sports competitions were held among military personnel of the two countries, with scientific conferences, cultural events scheduled for the same day.
The Russian contingent is represented by the units of the mountain detachment brigade of the Central Military District stationed in Tuva.
