President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday received the Deputy PM of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin who arrived in Uzbekistan on the instruction of the President Vladimir Putin.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, greeting the guest, noted with satisfaction that the regular and productive dialogue at the highest levels helps to strengthen the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and alliance ties, filling them with concrete practical content.

The sides agreed that the of the Uzbek President state visit to the Russian Federation in April this year, as well as the meetings within the framework of the CIS summit in Sochi on October 10, helped elevate the bilateral cooperation to a new level.

Currently, the two-way trade is steadily growing, major investment projects are being implemented with Russia’s major companies and banks in the oil and gas sector, metallurgy, machine building, electrical engineering, textile, food, pharmaceutical and other industries of Uzbekistan.

Issues of practical implementation of the reached agreements aimed at further expanding trade, economic, investment and military-technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed at the meeting.

Dmitry Rogozin expressed deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Rogozin stressed the interest and readiness of the Russian Federation to develop full-scale and mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.
