Solemn events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the state and public figure Sharaf Rashidov will today take place in his home town of Jizzakh. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Jizzakh to attend the events, UzA said.
Guests from all provinces and from abroad were solemnly greeted at the Jizzakh railway station.
A great deal of preparations wer held for the events pursuant to the President’s March 27 Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Sharaf Rashidov in Jizzakh City Decree.
Large-scale construction and refurbishment works were performed at Sharaf Rashidov Square and memorial house museum.
Earlier in summer, Sharaf Rashidov's bust was opened in the center of Sharaf-Rashidov district of Djizak province.
