The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed an order approving the opening of a consulate general of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The government notes that this decision will enhance the efficiency and quality of consular services provided to citizens of Uzbekistan, including labor migrants.

"The jurisdiction of the consulate will include subjects of the Southern and North-Caucasian federal districts," the statement concluded.
